We Do Not Boast When We Say...

...we feel we have a close connection to the Chief. Our ties to our heritage are strong. Big Bob and cousin Jim, along with a few of the other founding members of our association, have participated in regular correspondence with the heads of the Highland Clan Fraser for almost forty years and this long standing relationship is a privilege that we respect and cherish, but never take for granted.

When a group, or even just a couple of us are making a trip to the Highlands, there are always a few contacts to telephone, or perhaps visit with, if schedules permit. This keeps our bonds mighty and our roots firmly planted in the proper soil. This page has the pictures of our August '98 trip to Scotland. It was a once in a lifetime event. Below you can see pictures of the official Highland coming of age ceremony for our new Chief, Simon Fraser, 25th MacShimidh, 18th Lord Lovat, on the grounds of Beaufort Castle and some of the other things we did.

...represent only a fraction of what took place on the day of the coming of age celebration. A shinty match in place of an interclan brawl, was held between a Cameron team and a Fraser team. The Fraser team triumphed, of course. Also, tea was served, speeches were made in honour of and by Simon. Gifts were presented by the Beauly Community Council and by Cousins Jim and Bob.

The Clan Centre Is Worthy Of Our Help! Here's Why:

INTERNATIONAL CLAN CENTRE

As proposed by Ann Fraser, of Beauly, with W. Neil Fraser, of the Clan Fraser Society of Canada,

Frasers and Chisolms have united to create an International Clan Centre in historic Beauly.

This is a unique opportunity to keep our Fraser heritage alive for future generations.

I hope you will agree that the project is worthy of your support.

THE PURPOSE OF THE CENTRE

1. To establish a central agency for information on the history and genealogy of those bearing the name Fraser and others with a familial or traditional connection to the name.

2. To provide a source of authoritative information for Frasers around the world.

3. To collect, restore, preserve, catalogue and display books, documents, paintings, photographs and artifacts with a Fraser historical connection.

4. To establish and maintain a computer database of genealogical records on Frasers and related names in Scotland, for ancestral research.

5. To provide an attraction for Frasers visiting Scotland, where they can learn about their history and trace their ancestors from a central home.
